Windows Migrations

Is the idea of migrating to a more secure desktop an appealing on for your business? Are you tired on the seemingly never-ending onslaught of virsus, worms, malware, and spyware costing your company your hard-earned money?

Do not worry. You are in the same boat as a great many business owners and managers. At Greg Brown Systems we are experts in the field of network migrations to secure computing platforms.

Do you have an application that requires Microsoft's operating system?

Before making the decision to migrate to a new platform it is important to think about what impacts this migration might have on your business. Give us a call at GBS headquarters and we can help you better understand all aspects of desktop migration from end user training to the identification of applications required by your business that work only with Microsoft's operating systems. In cases where a business-critical application is in place that requires Microsoft's operating system, and that system cannot be replaced by a more secure solution, it is still possible to migrate the users of that application from Microsoft as the primary operating system. Give us a call and ask us how!

Open-Source servers use less system resources which translates into a longer hardware refresh cycle for your company!

At GBS our favorite migrations involve replacing Microsoft Servers with Open-Source servers using Linux or BSD (primarily Linux). Leveraging the security, flexibility, and low system usage of Linux translates into a more efficient and stable network for your business. Because Linux requires less system resources then the bloated Microsoft server operating systems it is possible to keep the server in place for a greater period of time between hardware refreshes.

Would you like an example? At GBS our primary in-house network file, e-mail, and web server is running on one single machine using a Pentium-II processor! Granted, this machine could use a bit more horsepower but for five users it still packs plenty enough power.

If you are interested in the following, give us a call:

  • Windows to Linux Desktop Migration
  • Windows to Apple Mac Desktop Migration
  • Windows Server to Apple Mac Server Migration
  • Windows Server to Open-Source (Linux or BSD) Server Migration
  • Windows Database to Open-Source Database Migration.

Remember to ask about a free network vulnerability scan!
